The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications.
This role involves collaborating with the development and QA teams to understand project requirements, identify test scenarios, and develop automation scripts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using appropriate automation tools and frameworks.
- Executing automated test scripts to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of software applications.
- Identifying and reporting defects using bug tracking tools, providing detailed information and steps to reproduce.
- Performing regression testing to ensure that changes or updates do not introduce new issues.
- Collaborating with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, providing clear and concise information about test results and defects.
- Continuously enhancing and optimizing automated test suites to improve efficiency and coverage.
- Participating in test plan and test case reviews, providing feedback and suggestions for improvements.
- Collaborating with the QA team to establish and maintain test environments and test data.
- Staying up to date with emerging trends and advancements in automation testing, and proposing their adoption in projects.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (CS, IT, ETC) or Post Graduate Degree in Computer Applications (MCA).
- Proven experience of 4+ years as an Automation Tester or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, processes, and best practices.
- Proficiency in automation testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Appium, or Cucumber.
- Experience in designing and developing automation test scripts using scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, or JavaScript).
- Solid understanding of test automation frameworks and their implementation.
- Familiarity with version control systems and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills to effectively communicate test results and issues to the development team.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
