Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Critical Facilities Operations and Maintenance Engineer.

This role involves working with complex mechanical, electrical, and other infrastructure systems in mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of safe work practices, sensitive facility components, and Microsoft Office Suite.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, installing, and maintaining critical facilities systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and life safety monitoring and control systems. They will also analyze current operating conditions and recommend new preventative and proactive methods for maintaining and monitoring facilities systems.

In addition, the engineer will evaluate facility standards and practices to improve maintenance procedures and ensure optimal operational efficiency. They will comply with organizational and governmental safety standards and coordinate response to emergency situations.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and have advanced experience working in a similar engineering role. They will also have advanced knowledge of CMMS systems, critical facilities operations and maintenance, and mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, plans, installs, and/or maintains more complex mechanical, electrical, and other infrastructure systems in mission-critical, high-risk, or high-reliability environments such as data centers or utilities infrastructure.
  • Works with all major systems within a facility or building such as electrical and HVAC systems and performs regular maintenance on all systems.
  • Ensures proficient understanding of sensitive facility components that may be impacted by failures or malfunctions of infrastructure systems.
  • Analyzes current operating conditions and recommends new preventative and proactive methods for maintaining and monitoring facilities systems.
  • Evaluates facility standards and practices to improve maintenance procedures and ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Complies with organizational and governmental safety standards and coordinates response to emergency situations.

Knowledge and Attributes:

  • Advanced understanding of safe work practices, which are set by safety regulations and legislation.
  • Advanced proficient understanding of sensitive facility components that may be impacted by failures or malfunctions of infrastructure systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of CMMS systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of critical facilities operations and maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments.
