Mortgage Origination Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Origination Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our mortgage operations department, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Direct management of junior lenders, including attendance, training, hiring, recruiting, and performance reviews
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience with RESPA/TRID review and other federal, state, and industry compliance requirements
  • Interface professionally with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and mortgage lenders to ensure successful closes
  • Elevate service levels for customers by assisting in the application process, overseeing all mortgage loan closings, and completing post-closing requirements quickly
  • Ensure future salability and quality control of residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to lender underwriting guidelines and federal and state regulations
  • Develop coaching and training programs for new and existing staff to improve skills and performance
  • Use quality assurance data to build improvement in overall lender decision making
  • Identify gaps and document processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Build a reporting suite that allows clear communication of performance to team members, peers, management, and executive leadership
  • Monitor and oversee loan production pipeline to ensure timely delivery and high-quality results
  • Meet departmental KPIs and prepare action plans or correction actions when individual metrics are not met
  • Ensure ongoing and complete communication of key initiatives, deliverables, and expectations across team members, peers, managers, and executive leadership
  • Manage administrative tasks of the department, including timecards, schedules, vacations, and performance reviews
