NICU Incharge Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate NICU professional to join our team. As a key member of our neonatal care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring the smooth operation of the NICU unit, and promoting a culture of excellence and safety.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to nursing clinical standards and ensure that all equipment and patients are properly managed.
  • Effectively manage manpower deployment based on patient-nurse ratio and escalate in case of shortage.
  • Ensure compliance with grooming standards, discipline, and decorum among team members.
  • Make quick and accurate decisions in emergency situations.
Patient Care and Assessment:

Complete the Nursing Assessment Guide within 15-30 minutes of admission and ensure that patients are comfortable and safe.

  • Implement safety measures for vulnerable patients as per policy.
  • Competently handle all equipment and gadgets used in patient care.
Patient Rights and Confidentiality:

Understand and ensure that patient rights are respected and maintained confidentiality of patient information.

  • Review doctor's notes and drug charts on admission and act accordingly.
  • Maintain medical and nursing records of patients as per protocol.
Medication Administration:

Monitor administration of drugs according to Drug Administration Policy and administer dangerous medicines under counter-check by a second nurse.

  • Document medication and complete documentation as per policy.
  • Observe patients for safe medication and note any adverse reactions.
Inventory Management:

Manage inventory of drugs and consumables and ensure no wastage.

  • Monitor pharmacy indents and check receipt stocks.
  • Implement the visitor policy and ensure visitors are briefed regarding personal items safety and infection control requirements.
Communication and Coordination:

Cordinate with Billing team regarding admissions, discharges, and billing activities.

  • Report day-to-day activities and issues needing resolution.
  • Work closely with LDR, OT, and Ward teams.
Requirements:
  • Awareness of NABH Nursing Excellence standards and implementation.
  • Awareness of barrier nursing and neonatal death protocol.
  • Awareness of narcotic policy and infection control measures.
