Job Role:

The Mortgage Pre-Closing Specialist is responsible for reviewing loan packages and creating Initial and subsequent Closing Disclosures (CDs).

About the Position:

This role requires a strong understanding of mortgage concepts, practices, procedures, and Fannie Freddie guidelines to ensure accurate data in the CD.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Request fees from settlement agents and perform fee analysis
  2. Prepare Prelim closing disclosure
  3. Issue initial closing disclosures/re-disclosures to clients
  4. Review flood insurance/flood certifications, Title commitment, ownership of deed, Loan approval, tax cert and prelim closing disclosures
  5. Monitor individual closing pipeline, workload and volume levels for maximum balance and efficiency
  6. Review Power of Attorneys (POA)
  7. Review Cash to close
  8. Create closing documents and monitor required waiting periods
  9. Request preclosing audit prior to Closing
  10. Deliver final closing documents
  11. Review final closing documents and clear to fund

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with 18 months of experience in preparing Initial and Final closing documents
  • Should have knowledge of commonly used mortgage concepts, practices, procedures and Fannie Freddie guidelines
  • Should have working knowledge with any Loan origination systems
  • Should possess basic knowledge to work on MS offices tools
