Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and developing data products, with a strong focus on data modelling and tuning SQL query performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimising data driven products and services for our product suite, including data lakehouse, Data Access APIs and reporting.

Key responsibilities will include contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle, designing and architecting future-state solutions, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical product data models.

The successful candidate will also assist in process and performance optimization for data access, database tuning and optimisation, and help guide and mentor less experienced software developers.

Additionally, the candidate will support and resolve base product defects and incidents in client testing and production environments.

Requirements and Skills
  • Extensive professional data product development experience, including design, development, documentation, and maintenance across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in designing and implementing data products.
  • Experience creating secure data solutions including avoidance and mitigation patterns for relevant current and previous OWASP top-10.
  • Demonstrable experience in data modelling and tuning SQL query performance.
  • Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and efficient data design and access (ORM, JDBC, DAO, SQL).
  • Experience or an interest and willingness to learn GXP/Computer Systems Validation principles.
