Operational Excellence Specialist Role

About the Position

  • This position involves spearheading a focused initiative to enhance operational efficiency and profitability across global manufacturing sites and processes.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with site leadership teams and the Director of Operational Excellence to develop and execute performance transformation initiatives, driving continuous improvement culture and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cost-saving projects through process improvements.
  • Develop policies and standards for group manufacturing excellence.
  • Establish an Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) program to track and eliminate lost production causes.
  • Conduct diagnostics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct value stream mapping exercises to define processes and work with sites to implement or streamline/improve use of Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Promote and support projects and programs within businesses for identifying improvement levers, setting objectives, and executing Manufacturing Excellence initiatives.
  • Support the execution of improvement projects by promoting proven tools and approaches to achieve manufacturing excellence.
  • Ensure sustained improvements through training and skill building of leaders.
  • Lead and mentor leadership team members, fostering a culture that motivates employees.
  • Recommend methods to increase product quality and/or service.
  • Participate in self-development activities and training of others.
  • Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices, protecting employees and visitors.
  • Work closely with other OE Managers and Directors to implement improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business discipline.
  • At least 5-8 years' experience in project/program management, operational excellence/continuous improvement, or consulting role.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Proven Lean Six Sigma experience to drive business results.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Impact and influence skills, strong experience in change management.
  • Initiative, project management skills.
