Job Opportunity: Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in data protection to join our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage data protection projects, ensuring alignment with global regulatory requirements (GDPR, PDPB/DPDP Act, HIPAA, CCPA, etc.).
  • Conduct thorough privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
  • Design, review, and enhance data protection policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance.
  • Implement and monitor effective data protection controls, including data subject rights, consent management, and cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
  • Collaborate closely with IT, Legal, and Risk functions to ensure seamless integration of data protection compliance into technology and business processes.
  • Develop and deliver awareness sessions and training programs on data protection.
  • Present comprehensive reports to senior management and stakeholders on data protection risks, compliance gaps, and remediation strategies.

Requirements:

  • 4-10 years of relevant experience in data protection, information security, or compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations (GDPR, DPDP Act, HIPAA, CCPA, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with data protection audits, assessments, and compliance programs.
  • Exposure to ISO 27701, ISO 27001, and other relevant data protection/security frameworks.
  • Ability to manage client engagements, lead teams, and deliver projects within tight timelines.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • CIPT / CIPP-E / CISM / CISA or equivalent data protection/security certifications.
  • ISO 27701 Implementer / Lead Auditor is an advantage.
