Job Title:

Associate Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Consultant with 3-5 years of experience in Direct Tax to fill this challenging role. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and direct tax advisory, transaction documentation, due diligence, international tax advisory, and treaty interpretations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • M&A and direct tax advisory on complex issues such as mergers, demergers, spin-offs, business transfers etc.
  • Preparation and review of transaction documentation.
  • Conducting direct tax due diligence.
  • International tax advisory with a specific focus on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent BEPS (MLI), General Anti-Avoidance Rule (GAAR), Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA), domestic tax laws and FEMA/regulatory issues.
  • Inbound and outbound structuring.
  • Treaty interpretations.
  • Carrying out research on varied income-tax issues including preparation of Case for Opinions for briefing senior counsels on complex direct tax issues.
  • Preparing deliverables in the form of slide decks, opinions, notes and memoranda.
  • Direct tax litigation assistance including drafting submissions and briefing senior counsels.

Qualification Requirements:

A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
