About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Naval Architect to join our team. As a Subject Matter Expert in this field, you will work closely with our Data Scientists to build digital solutions for large Container Ships. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us develop innovative solutions that address the complex challenges of ship operations and hydrodynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze container ship operations data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conceptualize and develop Digital Twin models for large Container vessels.
  • Identify and integrate relevant data sources to build comprehensive Container Ship Digital Twins.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to develop proactive domain inputs for building accurate Digital Twin models.
  • Design and implement Digital Twin models that incorporate fuel performance curves, vessel hydrodynamic stability, safety thresholds, and other critical parameters.
  • Develop tactical solutions to prevent Parametric and Synchronous rolling, including alert systems and recommendations for concerned personnel.
  • Create derived parameters such as Trim, Metacentric Height, Windage, and others from various data sources.
  • Develop AI/ML solutions to recommend vessel speed, overconsumption alerts, fouling margins, and other critical insights.
  • Visualize Vessel Digital Twins for end-users, as required by project deliverables.
  • Scan and recommend process improvements, statutory guidelines, and updates in related areas.

Requirements:

  • 12-20 years of experience in naval architecture, ship design, and vessel digital twin development.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in conceptualizing and building Container Vessel fuel consumption curves and ship hydrodynamic performance models.
  • Hands-on experience in building or running solutions like Vessel Digital Twin, Vessel Hydrodynamic Simulation, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong appreciation and/or experience of Data Science subjects, including simulation, optimization, ML models, and their applications in the shipping industry.
  • Excellent consulting skills, leadership in uncertain situations, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to articulate complex concepts to technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to guide teams in developing analytics solution blueprints that balance business context and technical details.
  • Ability to analyze pros-and-cons of different analytic options and communicate choices effectively to stakeholders.
  • Confident communication with Director/VP level stakeholders and executive presence in interactions with CXO level stakeholders.
