Job Role:

Backup Engineering Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Backup Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing backup solutions for regular data backups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and manage backup tools (e.g., Veritas, Veeam, Commvault) to ensure seamless data recovery.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to backup jobs and tape libraries to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of backup procedures and recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on data protection initiatives to identify and address potential risks.
  • Monitor backup systems for performance and capacity to optimize data storage.
  • Implement security protocols for data backups to prevent unauthorized access.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in backup engineering within data centers.
  • Strong knowledge of backup software and hardware.
  • Experience with tape libraries and data deduplication.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware, NetApp) are highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
