Award-winning Merchandising Specialist


About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and resourceful Merchandising Specialist to drive the end-to-end merchandising process from order inquiry to final shipment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of garment manufacturing, production timelines, buyer communication, and product development.


Main Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with Buyers and Internal Teams: Act as the primary point of contact between buyers and internal teams (production, design, quality, etc.) to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.
  2. Develop Samples and Ensure Timely Approvals: Understand buyer requirements, develop samples, and facilitate timely approvals to meet deadlines.
  3. Manage Time and Action Calendars: Prepare and manage Time and Action (TNA) calendars for each order to ensure efficient project planning and execution.
  4. Source Raw Materials and Coordinate Vendors: Follow up on raw material sourcing, production schedules, and quality parameters, while coordinating with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of trims and fabrics.
  5. Monitor Order Status and Delivery Timelines: Track order status, production progress, and delivery timelines to avoid delays and ensure timely completion.
  6. Negotiate Prices and Manage Buyer Communications: Prepare costing sheets and negotiate prices with buyers and suppliers, while managing buyer communications regarding order updates, changes, and queries.
  7. Conduct Market Research: Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, pricing, and buyer expectations, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  8. Maintain Accurate Records and Reports: Maintain all merchandising records, reports, and documentation accurately to support informed business decisions.
  9. Evaluate Quality Standards and Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and buyer compliance requirements to safeguard the company's reputation.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Fashion Merchandising or Related Field: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Exceptional Communication and Negotiation Skills: Demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills to build effective relationships with buyers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Organizational and Multitasking Abilities: Showcase excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP Systems: Be proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and familiar with ERP/MIS systems to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Fabric Knowledge and Garment Construction: Possess knowledge of fabric types, trims, washes, and garment construction to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality results.
