Job Title: Technical Specialist

About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will have expertise in simulation software, specifically Ansys Workbench. They will work closely with the design and materials teams to validate component performance through simulations and physical testing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing linear and nonlinear static structural simulations for mechanical systems
  • Conducting Modal Analysis to determine natural frequencies and mode shapes for critical components
  • Executing Vibration Resistance Analysis (harmonic, random, and response spectrum)
  • Carrying out Fatigue Life Estimation using stress-life / strain-life approaches for components under cyclic loading
  • Performing Shock analysis to assess component survivability under abrupt dynamic loading conditions
  • Developing and executing Multibody Dynamics (MBD) simulations to model motion and contact interactions between moving components like actuators and linkages
  • Defining and applying appropriate material models, boundary conditions, loads, and mesh strategies based on component service conditions (fluid pressure, thermal, mechanical)
  • Interfacing with stakeholders to obtain approval from approving authorities
  • Documenting all simulations in formal engineering reports and supporting design review presentations

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in FEA for mechanical components, preferably in Valves, powertrain, or heavy equipment industries
  • Proven expertise in Ansys Workbench (Mechanical, Implicit/ Explicit Dynamics, Fluent/CFX)
  • Strong grasp of failure theories, fatigue mechanics, vibration, and fluid dynamics
  • Hands-on experience with complex assemblies, contact modelling, and convergence management
  • Ability to interpret and correlate FEA results with experimental validation

Preferred Competencies

Candidates with the following competencies will be given preference:

  • Understanding of component design and applications (defence)
  • Familiarity with Multiphysics simulations (e.g., fluid-structure interaction, thermal-fluid coupling)
  • Ability to interpret FEA/CFD results to recommend design changes for improving performance, durability, or manufacturability
  • Programming/scripting knowledge (Python) for simulation automation
  • Familiarity with design tools like Creo for CAD integration into Ansys
