Kafka Administrator Role

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Kafka Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kafka administration, with experience in large-scale cluster management, security, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage large-scale Kafka clusters for data processing and streaming.
  • Ensure the availability, scalability, and fault tolerance of Kafka clusters.
  • Monitor performance, collect metrics, and optimize configurations for optimal system utilization.
  • Collaborate with developers to provide expert-level support for Kafka-related projects.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and best practices for Kafka administration.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to Kafka and its ecosystem.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 2.5 years of experience in Kafka administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Confluent, AWS MSK, and other Kafka distributions.
  • Experience with big data and Hadoop ecosystems.
  • Expert-level skills in Linux/Unix systems and Windows Server.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Knowledge of automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, and GitOps.
  • CI/CD tools like GitLab and Jenkins.
  • Monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Atlassian stack including JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.

Nice to Have:

Experience with IBM MQ/RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and ServiceNow would be an asset.
