Expertise in underground powerline projects is required for this role. We are seeking an innovative and proficient designer to join our Transmission & Distribution team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Drafting: Utilize software such as Civil 3D, MicroStation, and ArcGIS to prepare designs and drawings for underground powerline projects. Perform QA/QC reviews of pulling calculations, alignments, and design standards.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Coordinate and oversee the workload of lower-level drafting personnel. Provide mentorship and technical development, ensuring all project deliverables meet high quality and submission deadlines.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects with varied deadlines and deliverables. Proven track record of finding solutions to complex problems and effective prioritization is essential.
  • Innovation & Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry developments and identify optimal methods for design tasks. Ensure compliance with relevant codes of practice, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Diploma in Electrical/Civil Engineering with 3-4 years of experience or ITI in Electrical/Civil with 6-8 years of experience is required. Prior experience in underground transmission or distribution is beneficial.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Civil 3D or MicroStation is essential for creating plan profile drawings. Knowledge of underground powerline construction methods and concepts related to easements, right-of-way, and permitting is advantageous.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong analytical capability, excellent written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, and willingness to travel are necessary. Experience leading a team is also required.
