Job Opportunity: Livelihoods Strategy Lead

The Role of a Lifetime: Craft Sustainable Livelihood Opportunities for Rural Communities.

We are on a mission to empower rural communities through sustainable livelihood initiatives. As the lead for our livelihoods strategy, you will spearhead the design and implementation of innovative income-generating opportunities that enhance dignity of work, women's participation, and climate resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive livelihoods strategy aligned with our organization's vision and socio-economic realities of Punjab.
  • Design and pilot sustainable income-generating models for rural communities (e.g., agri-allied enterprises, skill development, women-led micro-enterprises, green economy initiatives).
  • Build scalable models that ensure long-term community ownership and integration of technology, digital literacy, and market linkages in livelihood programs.
  • Lead end-to-end program design and planning, including preparation of program budgets, resources, and monitoring frameworks.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in Rural Development, Management, Social Work, Agriculture, or related fields.
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in livelihoods, rural development, or community enterprise building.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale livelihood initiatives in India, preferably in Punjab/North India.
  • Strong understanding of social enterprises, women's economic empowerment, agriculture, and allied sectors.
  • Fluency in English, Hindi, and Punjabi (preferred).
