A critical role for a skilled Database Systems Engineer is available in our organization. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of our Oracle databases on Exadata platforms with GoldenGate replication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily health checks on Oracle (12c/19c+) environments and Exadata components (ASM, cellsrv, storage) to ensure system stability.
  • Monitor Oracle GoldenGate processes, check replication lag, and perform basic restarts as per standardized operating procedures.
  • Review alerts, validate backups, and track performance baselines (AWR/ASH) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Execute RMAN backup/restore activities and confirm successful completion to ensure data integrity.
  • Apply standard database patches and updates during maintenance windows to maintain system stability.
  • Perform routine changes (user/role creation, privileges, quotas) under change control to minimize downtime.
  • Triage alarms, gather diagnostics (AWR reports, alert logs, trace files), and restore services where possible to minimize disruption.
  • Escalate incidents to level 2/3 teams with clear context, timelines, and impact summaries to ensure timely resolution.
  • Contribute to post-incident reviews to identify areas for process improvement.
Requirements
  • ~1 year of hands-on experience with Oracle DBA tasks, schema management, and privilege handling.
  • Basic understanding of Exadata concepts (ASM, storage cells, smart scan)
  • Familiarity with Oracle GoldenGate fundamentals (process roles, trail files, start/stop, lag checks).
  • Working knowledge of RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager/Cloud Control, and SQL*Plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in rotational shifts (24×7 support) and adhere to incident/change management processes.
