System Operations Specialist

  • Manage user access for applications, including administering authorization and permissions.
  • Provide round-the-clock support and incident resolution, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous coverage.
  • Implement ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Track and resolve incidents through to completion, maintaining accurate records.
  • Monitor and analyze system health status, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including reports and awareness materials.
  • Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to resolve issues and implement changes.
  • Design, test, and deploy software solutions to meet business needs.
  • Enhance and maintain the team's knowledge base and wiki site.
  • Manage security certificates and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, business stakeholders, and operational teams.
  • Work in an agile environment, creating and managing user stories.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to production systems and processes.
  • Ensure that all changes, internal or external, do not compromise system availability, integrity, confidentiality, and supportability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and SQL.
  • Ability to create various types of documentation.
  • Analysis, development, testing, deployment, and support expertise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and communication skills.
  • Domain experience in transaction acquiring, issuing, and/or payments is desirable.
  • Understanding of IT support processes (ITIL) and familiarity with Connex are advantageous.
