Internal Audit Leader

This senior role is responsible for leading risk-based internal audits across various areas, including operations, finance, and compliance.

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Strengthening governance by documenting current controls, designing and implementing new ones, and establishing monitoring processes.
  • Owning client outcomes and team delivery, presenting to CXOs and driving remediation.

Key Responsibilities-

  • Planning and delivering annual risk-based audit plans, running engagements from planning to reporting.
  • Designing and testing controls, issuing clear and prioritized reports with action plans.
  • Leading audit teams, coaching reviewers, and managing senior client stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • CA qualification with 10+ years of post-qualification experience in consulting or CA firms doing hands-on internal audit and leadership.
  • Risk assessment, control testing, report writing, and excellent client communication and negotiation skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Mid-tier consulting or CA firm experience with robust IA exposure.

Constraints:

  • Not considering Big 4 firms or industry-heavy profiles.
90-Day Outcomes
  • Finalize risk-based plan within 30 days, align scope and timelines with stakeholders.
  • Establish controls documentation/testing cadence and deliver first reports with agreed actions within 60 days.
  • Launch a lightweight monitoring dashboard, show remediation progress, and contribute one qualified BD lead within 90 days.
