Job Title

Data Analyst, Engineer & Developer

  • Manage large datasets, handle day-to-day operations, administer and monitor components such as Hadoop, Hive, HBase, BigSQL, etc.
  • Support technical and application teams' requests for data copies across environments, data cleanup, query tuning, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to user queries, application jobs, etc.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data platforms, including hosted DBs, tools, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create data encryption zones, manage encryption keys, and copy data between the encryption zones.
  2. Support projects and initiatives related to data acquisition, processing, and utilization through data platforms.
  3. Maintain and support data platforms, CDP Private Cloud, and IBM BigSQL across multiple environments.
  4. Install new versions, patches, support upgrades of CDP Private Cloud and IBM BigSQL.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or an applicable field of study.
  • Significant experience in the data ecosystem, including HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, HBase, Spark, Scala, Yarn, Sqoop, Ranger, Knox, Kerberos, LDAP, SOLR, etc.
  • Experience with Java and Linux/Unix.
  • Experience with security scripting and automation.
  • Knowledge of R, Python, Flume, Storm, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience with IBM BigSQL or similar MPP SQL engines.
  • Knowledge of MySQL.
  • Experience with CI/CD.
  • Understanding of data lake concepts and big data capabilities.
  • Good understanding of data virtualization, replication, and data governance.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud-based PaaS/SaaS environments.
  • Strong communication skills.
