The Role of a Network Engineer involves ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of computer networks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and Implementation: Designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Configuration and Troubleshooting: Configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols, VLANs, VTP, VSS, VXLAN, and other networking technologies.
  • Cloud Networking: Managing virtual networks on cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, and VMWare.
  • Network Security: Ensuring network security through knowledge of best practices, firewall configuration, and protocol analysis.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve network-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 6-10 years of experience in network engineering.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Network Design: Proficiency in network design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Network Security Knowledge: Knowledge of network security protocols, LAN, WAN, wireless networks, DHCP, DNS, Proxy, VPN, Firewalls, TCP/IP, Intranets, Extranets, VoIP, Virtualization, High Availability, Backups/Disaster recovery, Routers, Device drivers.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
