Purchase Manager Job Overview

The role of the Purchase Manager is to oversee the procurement process for interior projects, encompassing vendor onboarding, price negotiations, material sourcing, rate analysis, cost optimization, and timely delivery management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Development & Onboarding:
    • Evaluate new vendors to ensure a diverse supply chain, onboard them, and maintain performance records for quality standards compliance.
  • Material Procurement & Planning:
    • Procure necessary materials such as plywood, laminates, veneers, gypsum boards, paints, and other fit-out essentials.
    • Forecast project material requirements for availability and execution delay prevention.
  • Price Negotiation & Rate Analysis:
    • Negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers.
    • Conduct rate analysis for all materials and services to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Cost Savings & Budget Management:
    • Implement strategies to reduce material costs without compromising quality.
    • Track and report cost-saving initiatives.
  • Purchase Order Management:
    • Create and manage purchase orders and ensure timely follow-up with vendors.
    • Coordinate material deliveries according to project timelines.
  • Inventory & Stock Management:
    • Maintain optimal stock levels and coordinate site requirements with the project team.
    • Minimize wastage and maintain a clear audit trail of materials.
  • Vendor Relationship Management:
    • Build strong relationships with suppliers to improve pricing, lead times, and credit terms.
    • Resolve disputes or delivery issues proactively.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
    • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate documentation for procurement processes.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and finance teams for seamless execution.
    • Support the management team with procurement-related reports.
