Overview:

Accounts Payable Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Payable Leader to join our team. This is a strategic and operational role responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function, managing vendor payments, team operations, process improvement, and compliance.

This leadership position requires a professional with excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills. Strong expertise in payables processes, team leadership, and compliance management is essential.

The successful candidate will have 7+ years of accounts payable experience with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/MBA preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Timely and accurate processing of all payments, vendor invoices, and expense reports.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor payables policies and procedures for efficiency, compliance, and control.
  • Lead and manage a team responsible for accounts payable, including hiring, training, goal setting, and ongoing development.
  • Review, validate, and approve invoices; ensure adherence to company policies, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and resolve payment disputes or queries.
  • Maintain accurate records and reconciliations; oversee month-end and year-end closing processes for payables.
  • Optimize payables processes, automation, and risk prevention controls.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report on payables metrics: aging, cash flow, forecasts, and performance.
  • Coordinate with procurement, treasury, and accounting teams to ensure alignment and timely payments.
  • Support financial audits with documentation and process narratives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of accounts payable experience with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Strong expertise in payables processes, team leadership, and compliance management.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
