Job Summary

The Comcast Corporation is seeking a skilled Middleware Engineer to join our Unified Communications Engineering team. As a Middleware Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing high-quality middleware components using core technologies like Java, Node.js, Golang, Spring Framework, API communication protocols (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), unit testing frameworks, SQL/NoSQL databases, logging & monitoring tools, Git, and Docker.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement well-tested middleware components.
  • Partner with Engineering Project Manager to provide consultative direction and develop long-term objectives and plans.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver quality products in a timely fashion.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships within product development teams.
  • Participate in the review of failures and provide feedback to prevent future occurrences.

Requirements:

  • Programming Languages: Java, Node.js, Golang, Javascript
  • Frameworks: Spring framework
  • API Communication: RESTful APIs, SOAP, GraphQL, WebSockets
  • Testing: Unit testing frameworks (JUnit, etc.)
  • Databases: SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Logging & Monitoring: Splunk/ELK stack, Prometheus/similar tools
  • Version Control: Git
  • Message Brokers: Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Containerization: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies like Docker, and infrastructure management tools.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with Microservice Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, Streaming Data Processing
  • Ability to implement secure authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms within middleware solutions.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
