Manufacturing Engineering Role

This is a pivotal opportunity to join our technical sourcing engineering team as a Manufacturing Engineer. Your primary focus will be on laser, optical, electromechanical components, and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, product development, quality, procurement, and commodity managers to align the global sourcing strategy and supply base.
  • Work on laser, optical, electromechanical components, electromechanical assemblies, motors, power management, controls, and OEM assemblies.
  • Focus on instruments and equipment in AIG and GSG Divisions.
  • Contribute to cost reduction, manufacturing scale-up, and resolve supplier quality issues.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering is required.

A minimum of 8 years of experience in hands-on product design, product development, and manufacturing is necessary.

Experience in product design, electromechanical assembly design, or systems design is preferred.

  • Strong project management skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to manage vendors, contract manufacturers, and design firms.
  • Value engineering, process development, should-cost modeling, DFA/DFM/DFx experience is beneficial.
  • Relevant experience handling suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Understanding of phase gate development processes and methodologies across multiple fields and subject matters is advantageous.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience with PCR, Protein, and Cell Analysis instruments and equipment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD Design software such as SolidWorks, Pro/e, or equivalent is required.
  • Negotiation skills: Ability to negotiate cost and build should-cost models for sourced materials.
  • Independence: Can work without direct supervision under ambiguous demands within a global organization.
  • Sophisticated Microsoft Excel skills, PowerBI knowledge is preferred.
