Strategic Leader - Surveillance Function

We are seeking a seasoned Strategic Leader to spearhead our surveillance function. This key position ensures effective detection, investigation, and prevention of market abuse or misconduct.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the investigation of alerts, suspicious trades, and breaches; identifying emerging risks in trading patterns, market behavior, or operational processes; and recommending preventive measures.

The role requires the development, testing, and deployment of surveillance systems; creating a comprehensive surveillance framework; driving the selection, implementation, and enhancement of surveillance platforms, analytics tools, and AI-based monitoring systems.

The successful candidate will lead, mentor, and develop the surveillance team, ensuring continuous skill enhancement in regulatory and analytical domains. They will also benchmark against global best practices, introduce process improvements, and automation to enhance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the investigation of alerts, suspicious trades, and breaches
  • Develop, test, and deploy surveillance systems
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the surveillance team
  • Benchmark against global best practices
  • Present periodic surveillance reports, risk dashboards, and key metrics to stakeholders

Qualifications and Skills:

Required Qualifications:

  • MBA (in finance), CA, CS

Experience:

Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of equity and equity derivatives markets
  • Proficiency in tools and programming used for analysis and report creation

Functional Competencies:

  • Understanding of exchange ecosystem and operations
  • Ability to integrate market knowledge with technical expertise for report automation
  • Analytical thinker with detailed research proficiencies
