System Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled System Reliability Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a leadership role and make a significant impact on our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve high-impact production issues across infrastructure and applications, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum system availability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and address performance, reliability, and architectural challenges, providing expert guidance and mentorship.
  • Participate in incident response bridges as a technical expert, driving resolution and minimizing the impact of incidents.
  • Design, build, and maintain tools and scripts to detect vulnerabilities, automate checks, and improve system visibility, enhancing overall system resilience.
  • Conduct thorough post-incident audits, identifying root causes and implementing remediation strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DBAs, network engineers, and platform teams, to unblock and resolve complex issues, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and drive them to resolution without waiting for direction, demonstrating initiative and leadership.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in SRE or DevOps roles, with a strong background in system administration, networking, and database management.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes (deployment, troubleshooting, performance tuning), Networking (firewalls, routing, connectivity issues), and Relational Databases (patching, auditing, performance tuning).
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for tooling and automation, with experience in writing efficient and scalable code.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, solving problems across teams and driving results-oriented outcomes.
  • Ability to navigate organizational blockers and drive issues to resolution, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with incident response and postmortem processes, with a focus on continuous improvement and learning.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools, with a strong understanding of data analytics and visualization.
  • Ability to mentor and coach other engineers and development teams, providing guidance and support to enhance team capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including DBAs, network engineers, developers, and leadership, to achieve common goals.
