Job Title:

Database Manager

Overview:

We seek an experienced Database Administrator to manage, maintain and optimize our SQL Server environments. This is a key role in ensuring database system reliability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and configure SQL Server instances (on-premises and cloud-based)
  • Perform regular database backups, restores, and recovery operations
  • Enforce SQL Server security through authentication, roles, and permissions management
  • Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions
Performance Optimization:
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify bottlenecks
  • Optimize T-SQL queries and indexes for better performance
  • Utilize tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and third-party solutions
Automation and Maintenance:
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting tools
  • Perform capacity planning, storage management, and patching
  • Collaborate with teams for performance improvements and project deployments
Documentation and Collaboration:
  • Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Support database deployments and CI/CD pipelines
  • Coordinate with cloud platform teams for database hosting
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA (SQL Server 2012-2022)
  • Proficiency in T-SQL and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing
  • Strong knowledge of backup and recovery strategies
  • Experience with HA/DR solutions like AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, and Clustering
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent
  • Experience with cloud database platforms
  • Exposure to SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD for database deployment
  • Familiarity with cloud-native tools and database-as-a-service models
