Pastry Specialist Position Overview

This role involves working as a key team member in the pastry department to ensure exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

  • We are seeking an experienced Pastry Cook who will be responsible for preparing and presenting an array of pastries and desserts according to our recipes and standards.
  • The selected candidate will work closely with the Pastry Chef Tournant to maintain high-quality food production, cleanliness, and organization in the pastry galley.
  • A significant portion of this role includes setting up pastry displays, transporting ingredients, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • We require a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to manage multiple tasks efficiently, including cleaning and sanitizing workstations and equipment.
  • This position demands excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and present an array of pastries and desserts according to our recipes and standards.
  2. Work closely with the Pastry Chef Tournant to maintain high-quality food production, cleanliness, and organization in the pastry galley.
  3. Set up pastry displays on buffets as needed.
  4. Transport ingredients from main stores to the pastry galley when assigned.
  5. Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following United States Public Health rules and regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A minimum of two years' experience as a Pastry Cook in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment.
  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency requirement.
