Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Proposal Engineer to join our team at Emerson. As a key member of our proposal team, you will be responsible for creating professional proposals that address customer needs while highlighting the advantages of partnering with Emerson.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with Sales Team - Collaborate closely with the Sales team to understand their insights, customer interactions, and market dynamics.
  • Lead Diamond Model Collaborators - Guide the Diamond Model collaborators team throughout the proposal execution process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develop Execution Strategies - Contribute to the development of execution strategies that align with the overall business objectives.
  • Customer Enquiries and Specifications - Receive and interpret customer enquiries, understanding their specifications and challenges.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Suppliers - Work closely with Operations organization, Engineering centers, and Third-party suppliers to review proposal strategies.
  • Create Competitive Proposals - Develop competitive cost proposals that optimize solutions while maintaining competitiveness.
  • Customer Meetings and Presentations - Participate in pre- and post-sales customer meetings, as well as tender clarification meetings, delivering technical presentations effectively.
  • Product Knowledge - Become well-versed in all company products and solutions to enhance proposal effectiveness.
  • Compliance and Governance - Ensure full compliance with legal and company requirements, including trade compliance, ethics, and alignment to corporate governance rules.
  • Record Retention Policy - Follow the company's record retention policy diligently, ensuring proper documentation.
  • PMO Proposal Workflow - Adhere to the PMO Proposal workflow, guidelines, and procedures to streamline execution.
  • Vendor RFQ and Quote Evaluation - Independently handle vendor Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and evaluate quotes, making informed decisions.
  • Local Weights and Measures - Be aware of local Weights and Measures requirements, ensuring compliance.
  • Contribute to Proposals Initiatives - Help improve process efficiency, avoid repetitive mistakes, and enhance turn-around.
  • Support New Members - Develop and bring new team members onboard.
  • Cross-Function Initiatives - Engage in cross-function initiatives, connect with cross-function leaders, and help resolve issues to boost collaboration between different functions.
Requirements:
  • Good Knowledge - Possess good knowledge in the application of various types of meters, analyzers, and key product types and applications for gas & liquids measurement.
  • Competency - Demonstrate competency to size flow meter and valves.
  • Good Communication - Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good Analytical - Show good analytical skills and action-oriented behavior.
  • Flexibility - Demonstrate flexibility to learn new things and understand different cultures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BE/Instrumentation - Hold a degree in Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience - Possess 02 to 10 years of experience in segment-specific applications, preferably managing concurrent mid-complexity proposals.
  • Buddy Program - Participate in the Buddy Program and coach newly joined team members.
  • MS-Office - Possess good knowledge about MS-Office applications.
