Backend Lead Engineer Role Description

As a Backend Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company's technology strategy and driving the development of scalable backend solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, as well as solid experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture. They will be responsible for leading the team in applying software design principles, including layered architecture, modularization, and encryption.

Key responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend solutions using Node.js and TypeScript, building and optimizing RESTful APIs or GraphQL services, and leveraging AWS cloud services for scalable and secure deployments.

Additionally, the successful candidate will drive best practices for code reviews, testing, and CI/CD, mentor junior developers, and guide the team in technical conduct performance tuning, debugging, and root cause analysis.

Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities, strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 6+ years of professional backend development experience
  • Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript
  • Solid experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture
  • Deep understanding of programming fundamentals: closures, serialization, encryption, and design patterns
  • Proficiency in RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL
  • Hands-on experience with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and modern development tools
