The Role

As our new Backend Engineering Team Lead, you will oversee the engineering efforts for the entire initiative, spanning both application and infrastructure layers. You will be responsible for leading a small team while maintaining hands-on involvement in building scalable and secure backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of backend systems powering payments and settlements
  • Design and scale reliable infrastructures on top of fragmented provider APIs across markets
  • Mentor and manage a small engineering team across infra + app layers
  • Ensure security, scalability, and regulatory readiness in architecture

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in backend engineering
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js and API design
  • Background in fintech or payments is highly desirable
  • Proven track record of leading small teams and scaling early-stage systems
  • Thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and ships fast
