Job Description

We are building cutting-edge robotic systems that help farmers remove weeds with precision and sustainability, reducing the need for chemicals.

The Robotics Engineer will design and implement innovative solutions for our laser targeting systems. This includes:

  • Designing high-precision gimbal & motor control systems for real-time laser targeting.
  • Developing robust BLDC motor control algorithms (microsecond precision) to ensure seamless integration.
  • Collaborating with the AI & perception team to connect weed detection with precision actuation.
  • Building sensor fusion pipelines combining IMU, GNSS, RTK, odometry, and custom sensors to enhance system performance.
  • Testing and tuning control systems in real-world field conditions (dust, heat, vibrations, uneven terrain) to guarantee reliability.
  • Scaling work to multi-laser, multi-unit robotic platforms for agriculture to maximize efficiency.
  • Implementing safety mechanisms, redundancy, and fail-safe protocols for field deployment to ensure operator safety.
  • Working closely with mechanical engineers to integrate actuators, gimbals, and hardware subsystems to achieve optimal results.

Requirements

  • Experience with BLDC motor control and precision positioning systems to drive innovation.
  • Strong knowledge of control theory (PID, adaptive control, state-space) to inform decision-making.
  • Hands-on programming skills in C++/Python on embedded systems to develop cutting-edge solutions.
  • Experience with ROS/ROS2 and communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet) to facilitate seamless integration.
  • A comfort level working at the intersection of hardware + software + field testing to deliver results.

Qualifications

  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing or ruggedized system design to guarantee performance.
