Firewall Security Architect

We are seeking a seasoned Firewall Security Architect to join our team. As a key member of our security infrastructure, you will be responsible for designing and implementing firewall architectures that ensure the integrity and security of our network.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network security and firewall management, with hands-on experience in implementing and administering Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama. Additionally, they should have experience working with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud security frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Firewall Architectures: Develop and implement firewall architectures using Palo Alto Networks firewalls (physical and virtual) to ensure secure data transmission.
  • Administer and Support Enterprise Firewall Systems: Administer and support enterprise firewall systems, including policy tuning and threat mitigation to maintain optimal network security.
  • Lead Deployment and Configuration of PAN VM-Series Firewalls: Lead the deployment and configuration of PAN VM-Series firewalls using Flex licensing models to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Manage IDS/IPS Signature Updates: Manage IDS/IPS signature updates, URL filtering, VPN services, and DNS security to prevent cyber threats.
  • Conduct Firewall Rule Audits: Conduct regular firewall rule audits and generate compliance reports to ensure adherence to security protocols.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and remediate security gaps, ensuring a robust and secure network infrastructure.
  • Document Architecture and Procedures: Document architecture, deployment plans, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and smooth onboarding.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of Experience in Network Security: Possess 5-10 years of experience in network security and firewall management.
  • Hands-On Experience with Palo Alto Networks Firewalls: Have strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama.
  • Multi-Cloud Environment Experience: Experience working with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud security frameworks.
  • DNS Security Knowledge: Knowledge of DNS security, bot protection, and endpoint detection systems.
  • Excellent Analytical Skills: Possess excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

A relevant certification (e.g., PCNSA, PCNSE) is preferred but not required.
