Manual Software Testing Role

We are seeking a skilled Manual Software Tester to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for testing software applications to ensure they meet the required quality standards. This will involve creating and executing detailed test cases, identifying areas of improvement in the testing life cycle, and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of detailed test cases.
  • Execute manual testing activities, including identification of test conditions and creation of test cases for project work.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Test Seniors, development teams, and management teams.
  • Identify areas of improvement in the testing life cycle and share these with the Test Senior or Lead.
  • Document mildly complex processes or procedures that may benefit other testers.

Person Specification:

  • 2+ years commercial experience in manual software testing.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of software testing lifecycle with Agile, Waterfall, and mixed methodologies.
  • Strong experience in API Testing using Postman.
  • Experience planning the application and reporting of internal and external testing phases.
  • Time spent working in cross-functional team environments, particularly self-managing environments.
  • Good working knowledge of testing management tools such as TestRail and JIRA.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant technologies and concepts including SQL Server, Client/Server applications, CRM, Postman, Utilities industry.
  • Good working knowledge of SQL statements.
  • Good working knowledge of REST API.
  • Experience in supporting junior testers.

Qualifications / Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT related degree, or comparable professional development and commercial experience.
  • ISTQB Foundation certification.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of commercial experience in manual software testing, strong experience and knowledge of software testing lifecycle with Agile, Waterfall, and mixed methodologies, and good working knowledge of testing management tools such as TestRail and JIRA.

They should also have strong experience in API Testing using Postman, experience planning the application and reporting of internal and external testing phases, and time spent working in cross-functional team environments, particularly self-managing environments.

A Bachelor's Degree in an IT related degree, or comparable professional development and commercial experience, and ISTQB Foundation certification are preferred qualifications.
