This role will involve assisting in the verification of payroll and faculty remuneration data, processing disbursements, booking and reconciling expenses, and helping prepare documentation for audits and reports.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll & Remuneration Support: Assist in reviewing payroll data of employees, apprentices, and faculty as shared by the HR team. Check calculations and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Salary Payments & Accounting: Support the process of obtaining approvals and making salary/remuneration payments. Perform basic accounting entries related to salary expenses, provisions, and monthly reconciliations under supervision.
- Statutory Compliance & GST Handling: Help verify statutory payment data (PF, ESI, PT) and match them with challans. Assist in GST invoice validation and recording in the ERP system.
- Advance Management & Clearance: Maintain records of advances given to payroll-related parties and track their clearance status. Coordinate with the accounts team for due clearance processes.
- Audit & Reporting Assistance: Prepare and maintain basic schedules and reports for internal and statutory audits. Contribute to the preparation of monthly MIS reports as required.
- Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with HR, compliance, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations and accurate financial processes.
Required Skills & Experience:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with working knowledge of Tally and Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, VLOOKUP, and data reconciliation. Understanding of accounts payable, payroll processes, GST/TDS compliance, and expense booking is also essential. Ability to manage routine accounting tasks and assist in month-end closings is required. Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment are also necessary.
