Job Overview

  • This position involves leading strategic, academic, and operational initiatives at a centre focused on capital markets research and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
  1. Develop long-term visions and strategies to drive the centre's goals.
  2. Design programmes and initiatives aligned with the centre's mandate in financial markets research and education.
  • Education and Research Programme Management:
  1. Provide necessary support for research projects, publications, and other scholarly activities in financial markets and related areas.
  2. Support faculty-led research, student engagement, and visiting scholar initiatives.
  3. Coordinate the organisation of training programmes, workshops, seminars, conferences, and certificate courses.
  • Industry and Stakeholder Engagement:
  1. Build partnerships with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other relevant organisations.
  2. Organise seminars, panel discussions, and talks/lectures by industry experts.
  • Operational Oversight:
  1. Manage day-to-day administration of the centre, including budgeting, reporting, and resource planning.
  2. Supervise staff, interns, and research associates.
  • Communication and Outreach:
  1. Oversee the centre's visibility, including online presence, publications, newsletters, and website updates.
  2. Represent the centre at conferences, academic forums, and industry meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in academic and/or research institutions, regulatory bodies, financial services companies, industry associations, or relevant organisations.
  • Proven ability to manage academic and research programmes.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, fintech, or quantitative finance is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience working in academic institutions or research centres.
  • Strong professional network in finance or policy domains.
  • Familiarity with grant writing, fundraising, and donor engagement.
