Java Developer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our team. The role involves developing scalable backend solutions, integrating risk models, and collaborating with credit risk analysts and data teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deploy Java-based backend applications for credit risk management.
  • Work closely with Risk Analysts and Modelers to integrate credit risk models into production systems.
  • Build RESTful APIs, microservices, and data processing pipelines.
  • Optimize application performance for large-scale credit risk data processing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in development activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk, compliance, and technology teams.
  • Maintain code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and best practices.
  • Participate in Agile / Scrum ceremonies and deliver sprint-based outcomes.
Technical Skills Required:
  • Strong Core Java, Java 8+ / Java 11+ programming skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Experience with REST API / Microservices development.
  • SQL / PL-SQL expertise for working with relational databases (Oracle / SQL Server / PostgreSQL).
  • Exposure to messaging platforms like Kafka, MQ (preferred).
  • Unit Testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
  • CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven / Gradle.
Domain / Functional Skills Preferred:
  • Understanding of Credit Risk concepts – PD, LGD, EAD, RWA.
  • Exposure to Basel III, IFRS 9, and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Experience supporting or developing applications used in risk modeling or credit risk calculations.
  • Basic understanding of risk data management and regulatory data processing.
  • Prior experience working with Risk Technology / Risk IT teams is a plus.
Good to Have:
  • Exposure to Big Data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark).
  • Experience in Financial Services / Banking / Lending platform development.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant software development experience, preferably in financial services or credit risk.
