Job Purpose

To lead the upkeep function of a sheet metal manufacturing facility, ensuring maximum machine availability and cost efficiency.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance schedules for all production equipment.

Maintenance Planning & Execution:

  • Develop maintenance schedules for all production equipment.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of machinery and systems including fabrication machines, welding lines, paint shop, assembly lines, and utility systems.
  • Minimize downtime and ensure availability of critical spares.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and supervise a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians across multiple shifts.
  • Conduct skill upgradation programs for maintenance staff on new technologies.

Continuous Improvement & Cost Control:

  • Apply TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and root cause analysis for reducing repetitive breakdowns.
  • Drive automation upgrades and energy-saving initiatives.
  • Optimize maintenance costs while improving machine reliability.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain documentation for audits.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety practices.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of sheet metal machinery and utilities.
  • Expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, automation, and control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent team leadership and coordination abilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Electrical exposure preferred).
  • 15–20 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in the sheet metal industry, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Hands-on exposure to robotic welding, CNC fabrication equipment, and utilities.
