Financial Operations Specialist

About this role:
We are seeking a senior accountant to manage client accounting projects and migrate data from other accounting software to Zoho Books. This person will be responsible for ensuring a seamless transition for our clients and maintaining the integrity of their financial data.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing monthly closing of financial accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Conducting monthly reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Handling vendor bill preparation and payment processing to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Posting monthly and one-time expenses.
- Preparing and submitting invoices for approvals.
- Preparing monthly/quarterly HST data for filing and ensuring compliance with HST regulations.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, reports, and records.
- Conducting regular audits and resolving discrepancies.
- Preparing query sheets after month-end closure.
- Addressing client queries and providing solutions to any issues.
In addition to these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will have experience in migration projects, specifically planning and executing data migration projects from various accounting software to Zoho Books. They will also develop customized migration strategies tailored to each client's business operations and ensure zero downtime and seamless business operations during live migration processes.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with minimum 3 years of experience in finance and accounting. They should be proficient in using online accounting software, including QuickBooks, Sage, FreshBooks, Xero, and Zoho Books. A strong understanding of Zoho Books is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects within deadlines is also required.
This position is based in North America, with a working schedule from 5am EST to 2pm EST. Salary range is competitive.
