Job Title: Operations Manager - Logistics Division

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of crew planning, recruitment, training, scheduling, performance monitoring, and compliance within logistics operations. This role ensures that all crew-related activities are aligned with the company's operational goals and statutory requirements, focusing on efficiency, safety, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for optimal crew utilization across logistics operations to achieve maximum productivity and minimize costs.
  • Forecast manpower requirements based on operational plans and seasonal variations to ensure seamless execution.
  • Ensure effective crew rostering and route assignments to maximize efficiency and reduce administrative burdens.
  • Lead the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for logistics crew members to enhance team dynamics and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with HR and talent acquisition teams to attract qualified candidates through targeted outreach and marketing strategies.
  • Design and oversee training programs related to safety, compliance, customer service, and technical skills to equip crew members with the necessary expertise.
  • Monitor and evaluate crew performance using KPIs such as delivery times, incident rates, and attendance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement incentive and disciplinary measures in accordance with company policies to motivate and retain top performers.
  • Ensure all crew members comply with local labor laws, transport regulations, and company policies to maintain a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Oversee health and safety programs, including incident reporting and investigation, to prevent accidents and promote a culture of safety.
  • Utilize fleet and crew management systems to track performance and productivity, making data-driven decisions to drive business growth.
  • Ensure data accuracy and use analytics to inform decision-making and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Liaise with operations, customer service, fleet management, and HR teams for seamless execution and effective communication.
  • Serve as the point of contact for escalation of crew-related issues to provide timely support and resolution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 15 years+ of experience in logistics or transportation, with at least 4 years in a managerial role handling crews.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation laws, labor compliance, and logistics operations.
  • Experience in managing large teams across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in crew/fleet management software and MS Office.
