IBDP Psychology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic IBDP Psychology educator to join our team.

The ideal candidate should have expertise in the IBDP Psychology curriculum and a passion for fostering critical thinking and inquiry-based learning.

• Achieve Academic Excellence: Oversee the IBDP Psychology curriculum, ensuring alignment with IB guidelines and academic standards.
• Develop Innovative Lesson Plans: Create lesson plans, teaching methodologies, and assessments that promote analytical and research-oriented learning.
• Foster Interdisciplinary Learning: Implement interdisciplinary teaching approaches, integrating Psychology with other IB subjects.
• Stay Current on Curriculum Updates: Stay updated on IB curriculum changes and best practices to enhance program delivery.

Cultivate a Culture of Academic Rigor:

• Teach IBDP Psychology, Years 1-2, ensuring high-quality instruction and active student participation.
• Guide Students in Assessments and Research: Guide students in Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, and Theory of Knowledge discussions.
• Provide Individualized Support: Provide individualized support and mentoring to students preparing for IB exams and university applications.

Promote Critical Thinking and Real-World Application:

• Design and Administer Assessments: Design and administer formative and summative assessments in line with IB standards.
• Analyze Student Performance: Analyze student performance data and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
• Lead and Mentor a Team: Lead and mentor a team of Psychology educators, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.

Faculty Development and Leadership:

• Conduct Departmental Meetings: Conduct departmental meetings, training workshops, and professional development programs for faculty.
• Support New Educators: Support new educators with IB training and pedagogy to ensure high teaching standards.
• Ensure Seamless Implementation: Work with the IB Coordinator to ensure seamless implementation of IB policies and assessments.

Extracurricular Initiatives:

• Promote Psychology-Based Activities: Promote Psychology-based extracurricular activities, including clubs, research projects, and competitions.
• Encourage Student Engagement: Encourage students to engage in psychological research, experiments, and case studies.
• Organize Guest Lectures: Organize guest lectures, workshops, and field trips to provide real-world exposure to students.

Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Psychology or Related Field.
• B. Ed. or Equivalent Teaching Certification is Mandatory.
• Minimum 5-7 Years of Experience in Teaching IBDP Psychology, with at least 2-3 Years in a Leadership Role.
• Certified IBDP Psychology Trainer is Preferred.

Skills:

• Strong Command of English with Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
• Experience in Educational Leadership or Department Management is Preferred.
• Familiarity with Integrating Technology into Teaching and Assessments is Preferred.
• Passion for Mentoring Students in University Applications, Research, and Psychology-Related Careers is Preferred.
