GIS Application Developer

As a GIS Application Developer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing custom GIS applications to meet the organization's goals. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain web-based mapping solutions that cater to the needs of various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain custom GIS applications using ESRI ArcGIS Suite and other relevant technologies.
  • Analysis and Optimization: Analyze user requirements and optimize geospatial workflows and tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Integration and Automation: Integrate GIS applications with various enterprise systems and APIs, and develop scripts and tools for data automation, analysis, and processing using Python/ArcPy.
  • Spatial Data Management: Perform spatial data modeling, geoprocessing, and complex spatial analysis using PostGIS and SQL Server with spatial extensions.
  • Mapping and Visualization: Create interactive maps, dashboards, and visualizations using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or Mapbox.
  • Testing and Documentation: Conduct performance tuning, testing, and documentation of GIS solutions to ensure they meet the required standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field; minimum 7 years of experience in GIS development.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online); experience migrating Geocortex Essentials and custom HTML 5 web applications into ESRI's JavaScript API version 4.
  • Programming and Databases: Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript (Leaflet/ArcGIS API for JS), or .NET for GIS applications; experience with spatial databases: PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle Spatial.
  • Web Development and Integration: Hands-on experience with FME, GDAL, or other ETL/data transformation tools; knowledge of web development frameworks and APIs (REST/SOAP); experience integrating GIS with other enterprise systems (ERP, CRM).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications and Cloud Experience: Certifications in GIS (e.g., Esri Technical Certification); experience working with cloud GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS/Azure).
