Senior Staff Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Staff Engineer to lead the development of complex System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures. This individual will contribute to the creation of innovative solutions for the smart home, industrial Internet of Things (IoT), and smart cities markets.

  • Lead the design and execution of SoCs from definition through production, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and plan SoC requirements, working closely with product marketing teams to develop technical specifications that meet product needs.
  • Develop and maintain SoC architecture or technical specification to meet product requirements, focusing on maximizing Intellectual Property (IP) reuse.
  • Coordinate with global design functional leads to track execution, triage issues, and perform prudent escalation.
  • Represent the design community, providing succinct weekly status and attending cross-functional meetings to drive design action items to closure.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 12 years of industry experience in SoC development, preferably with expertise in leading complex IP development projects.
  • Hands-on experience in architecture, micro-architecture, digital design processes, and high-speed interfaces like USB, PCIe, Ethernet, Mobile DDR, Quad/Octa-SPI.
  • Familiarity with processor designs, including RISC-V and ARM processors, as well as low-power design methodologies.
  • Knowledge of design signoff flows, including Lint, CDC, Formal Verification, Synthesis, Constraints, and STA Timing Closure.
