Mainframe Batch Operations

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Batch Operations professional to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and supporting mainframe operations, ensuring the smooth execution of batch jobs, and maintaining system performance and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support mainframe operations to ensure smooth execution of batch jobs and maintain system performance and availability.
  • Utilize automated scheduling tools such as ZEKE or ZENS to manage and automate batch jobs.
  • Manage code movement using Endeavor.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of job scheduling and code promotion/deployment processes.
  • Troubleshoot business-critical applications to ensure smooth operations.
  • Understand and apply standard operating procedures to meet business needs and requirements.
  • Log and record support tickets with appropriate priority.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support mainframe operations.
  • Train new hires on systems and applications.
  • Develop strong partnerships with other groups within the organization to aid in problem resolution.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of new processes or modifications to existing processes, policies, and standards.
  • Familiarity with COBOL, JCL, and REXX programming languages.
  • Understanding of security compliance and disaster recovery planning.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in mainframe batch operations.
  • Strong knowledge of job scheduling and code promotion/deployment processes.
  • Experience with automated scheduling tools such as ZEKE or ZENS.
  • Knowledge of COBOL, JCL, and REXX programming languages.
  • Familiarity with output management tools like Mobius.
  • Understanding of security compliance and disaster recovery planning.
