Bechtel Corporation seeks a skilled Statutory Financial Reporting Supervisor to join our team. This role requires expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and audit management. The successful candidate will lead our audit team, ensuring timely and accurate completion of statutory financial reports for India, Gulf, Egypt, and other African and European region entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the General Accounting sub-vertical under the guidance of the Accounting/Operations Manager/Senior Supervisor.
  2. Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.
  3. Provide required reports to Operations Manager/Controllers/stakeholders.
  4. Review financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) prepared by the team according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements.
  5. Interface with internal and external auditors.
  6. Refer complex compliance matters requiring contractual and policy decisions to the responsible Controller/Regional Controller and other stakeholders.
  7. Scrutinize ledger transactions to ensure accuracy of tax compliance reports and schedules.
  8. Provide supervision to accountants in the preparation of reports, monthly financial statements, and other reports as requested.
  9. Highlight complex accounting matters in a timely manner to stakeholders and provide recommendations for resolution.
  10. Be responsible for managing and reviewing teams' performance.
  11. Provide guidance and required training to the team to perform assigned tasks.
  12. Identify training requirements in line with the ever-changing compliance and regulatory environment to ensure work performed adheres to established regulatory guidelines and corporate policies and procedures.
  13. Develop strong relationships and establish communication with stakeholders.
  14. Participate in work process reviews and recommend changes, assist in the design, testing, and implementation process, and system changes.
  15. Develop and update desk procedures and may participate in the development and delivery of training materials and classes.
  16. Be responsible for managing and reviewing teams' performance and act as the back-up of the Sr. Supervisor.

Requirements:

  1. Chartered Accountant with 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience in a Large MNC or Big4 accounting firms is preferred.
  2. Advanced knowledge of financial reporting and financial statements preparation.
  3. Thorough knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards.
  4. Sound understanding of WHT, Service Tax, and Corporate Tax.
  5. Advanced skills in oral and written communications, MS Office suite of applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  6. Good analytical skills.
