Environmental Urban Planner

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate professional to join our team as a Project Associate for Green Mobility Zone Implementation. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of sustainable mobility solutions in Indian cities.

This role will involve working closely with our team to design and implement Low Emission Zones (LEZ), conduct baseline assessments, identify vehicle categories, and propose sustainable mobility solutions. You will also be responsible for managing and supporting strategies for cities to mitigate the adverse effects of urbanization.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with municipal corporations, pollution control boards, and state EV cells to ensure smooth LEZ implementation. Additionally, you will support awareness and capacity-building activities, conduct consultations with local businesses and citizen groups, and prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders.

• Design Analysis and Project Development: Understand site-specific urban challenges and create or support viable design strategies and proposals.
• Tactical Urbanism: Collaborate with the team to implement temporary design changes to test improvements and gather feedback.
• Training and Development: Conduct internal and external workshops to raise awareness and build capacity on street design and road safety principles.
• Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular progress reports summarizing program activities and achievements.
• Community Engagement and Outreach: Assist in organizing Raahgiri Days and other public awareness campaigns promoting street design for improved sustainability, safety, and community interaction.

• A Master's degree in environmental science, urban planning, or a related field.
• Proven experience working on urban spatial and/or environmental issues, preferably in air pollution control, EV policy integration, and urban design.
• Excellent research, data analysis, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote location, and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Responsiveness to stakeholder needs and requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis tools.
• Hindi and English fluency is a must.

• Experience working on green mobility, LEZ projects, or similar, in India or abroad.
• Knowledge of government policies and regulations related to urban design, air quality, and transportation.
