Script Writer Job Description

About this Position:

We're looking for a skilled wordsmith who can craft compelling narratives that bring stories to life. As a script writer, you'll work closely with our team to develop engaging content that resonates with audiences across various platforms.

This role involves transforming briefs, storyboards, and ideas into powerful screen-ready scripts. You'll need to balance creativity with strategy, ensuring that every line is authentic, emotive, and effective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write captivating scripts for various content formats, including reels, testimonials, brand videos, motion explainers, interviews, and campus documentaries
  • Collaborate with content strategists and producers to turn ideas into emotionally impactful narratives
  • Refine and rewrite scripts drafted by internal teams, aligning them with best storytelling practices
  • Evaluate pacing, flow, tone, and messaging to ensure consistency with audience and platform
  • Participate in directional planning, blocking, and shoot scripting when necessary
  • Guide voiceover recordings, scene transitions, and editing cues through your script structure
  • Develop a library of story structures and creative templates for recurring formats

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of experience as a scriptwriter, copywriter, or screenwriter, preferably in creative agencies or branded content studios
  • Experience in the tech and ed-tech domains is a plus
  • Experience in video direction or co-directing campaigns is a strong plus
  • Strong grasp of narrative structure, emotional flow, dialogue authenticity, and visual thinking
  • Ability to write for different platforms (YouTube, Reels, Docs, Social Ads) and audiences (students, parents, professionals)
  • Familiarity with regional stories and cultural nuances is a significant plus
  • Bonus: Experience working closely with editors, cinematographers, or designers
