Job Title: Proposal Engineer- Instrumentation

As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for preparing competitive technical and commercial proposals for Instrumentation & Control (I&C) packages in Process Engineering EPC projects. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with client specifications while coordinating with engineering, procurement, and vendors for accurate and timely submissions.

This role involves reviewing tender documents, client specifications, and project requirements to prepare technical bid documents, compliance statements, and cost estimates. You will also develop BOQs, instrument indices, and material take-offs based on P&IDs, as well as coordinate with vendors for technical clarifications and quotations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proposal Development:
  •     Review tender documents and client specifications for I&C scope.
  •     Prepare technical bid documents, compliance statements, and cost estimates.
  •     Develop BOQs, instrument indices, and material take-offs based on P&IDs.
  •     Coordinate with vendors for technical clarifications and quotations.
  •     Evaluate vendor offers for instruments, control systems, and automation solutions.
  •     Ensure proposals are technically compliant, commercially viable, and aligned with execution strategy.
  •     Participate in client interactions, pre-bid meetings, and technical discussions.
  •     Stay updated with relevant standards (ISA, IEC, IS) and industry practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Instrumentation and Control Knowledge:
  •     Strong knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA, field instruments, analyzers, and control valves.
  •     Hands-on experience with datasheets, specifications, and instrument sizing.
  •     Familiarity with EPC workflows, proposal preparation, and costing.
  •     Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
  •     Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD/SPI is an advantage.
Preferred Background:
  • EPC Industry Experience:
  •     Experience in EPC companies in Process, Chemical, Pharma, or Oil & Gas sectors.
  •     Prior exposure to client/consultant interactions for proposals.
