Position: Proposal Engineer – Instrumentation & Control (I&C)

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation / Electronics / Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

Role Summary

We are hiring on behalf of our client in EPC Projects for a Proposal Engineer – Instrumentation & Control. The role focuses on preparing competitive technical and commercial proposals for I&C packages in Process Engineering EPC projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications, and coordinating with engineering, procurement, and vendors for accurate and timely submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review tender documents, client specifications, and project requirements for I&C scope.
  • Prepare technical bid documents, compliance statements, and cost estimates.
  • Develop BOQ, instrument index, and material take-offs based on P&IDs.
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical clarifications and quotations.
  • Evaluate vendor offers for instruments, control systems, and automation solutions.
  • Ensure proposals are technically compliant, commercially viable, and aligned with execution strategy.
  • Participate in client interactions, pre-bid meetings, and technical discussions.
  • Stay updated with relevant standards (ISA, IEC, IS) and industry practices.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Instrumentation & Control systems: PLC/DCS/SCADA, field instruments, analyzers, and control valves.
  • Hands-on experience with datasheets, specifications, and instrument sizing.
  • Familiarity with EPC workflows, proposal preparation, and costing.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD/SPI is an advantage.

Preferred Background

  • Experience in EPC companies in Process, Chemical, Pharma, or Oil & Gas sectors.
  • Prior exposure to client/consultant interactions for proposals.
